Jonathan proctor, O.D.

Dr. Jonathan Proctor earned his BSc. from the University of Victoria in 1996, and Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2003, where he graduated with honors.  Before settling in Nelson,  Dr. Proctor practiced in William Lake for three years.  For several years he served as a director with the BC Association of Optometrists, of which he is still a member.  He is also a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists.

Dr. Proctor is an avid outdoorsman, and likes to spend his free time hiking, hunting, and exploring the more remote corners of the province.  He is married to Carmen Proctor, and has two children, James and Chloe.

Nicole Butler, o.d.

Dr. Nicole Butler graduated with distinction from Dalhousie University with a BSc in Biology. She then went on to study at the University of Waterloo to become a Doctor of Optometry. Dr. Butler was privileged to spend time studying ocular disease and therapeutics in Dallas, Texas and tropical disease in Malawi, Africa. She is passionate about providing quality eye care to her patients.

Dr. Butler was born and raised in Cranbrook, BC and she is very excited to be back living in the Kootenays. In her free time she enjoys hiking, swimming, reading, and travelling.

Eli Hall, O.D.

Dr. Eli Hall obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Montana State University. He then went on to achieve his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University in Oregon, graduating with honors. Prior to moving to Nelson, Dr. Hall was in private practice in Aspen, Colorado.  Dr. Hall is a member of both the BC and Canadian Association of Optometrists. 

In his free time, Dr. Hall is an avid downhill and backcountry skier. He is also an experienced mountaineer, and enjoys camping, hunting, and spending time with his wife, Andrea, and their two children.

tALLON KRAMER, o.d.

Dr. Tallon Kramer received his Associates of Science in Biology Diploma from Selkirk College in 2020 while playing for the Selkirk College Saints Mens Hockey team. He finished the remaining optometry prerequisites at the University of Victoria in 2021, and got his Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University College of Optometry where he graduated Summa cum Laude in 2025.

During his externship rotations, he spent time treating disease at the Parma Veterans Affairs Hospital in Parma, OH, and specialized in fitting custom scleral contact lenses at Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons, in Akron, OH. 

Dr. Kramer hails from Grande Prairie, Alberta, but fell in love with the Kootenays while playing for the Beaver Valley Nitehawks in 2015, and won a KIJHL and Cyclone Taylor Cup Championship in 2016-17. He is still an active hockey goalie, and loves golfing, volleyball, snowboarding, wakeboarding, fishing and everything else that the Kootenays has to offer.
