Optos Ultra-Widefield Imaging

Selkirk Eyecare has recently invested in top-of-the-line Optos imaging devices for both our Nelson and Castlegar clinics. These devices help in the screening, diagnosis, and management of ocular disease. Because they allow us to view so much of the retina, in some cases they may reduce the need for dilating drops. These images will also be stored in your file electronically, so that they can be compared to the photos at future eye exams.

OCT retinal imaging

OCT(Optical Coherence Tomography)

Selkirk Eyecare is proud to be able to offer our patients imaging with a spectral domain OCT.  This advanced imaging tool allows us to see beneath the surface of the retina and helps our doctors better manage the health of your eyes.  OCT imaging is very useful in the management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and many other retinal diseases.

Visual field testing

Visual Field Testing

Visual field testing is a way to evaluate the peripheral vision.  This is useful for diagnosing glaucoma, various neurological disorders, retinal detachments and many other problems.  The doctor may recommend follow-up after your exam for in-depth visual field testing if necessary.
